It's a Cow's Life | 1994 | 16" x 13" | oils on board
At first glance, we see a typical beautiful countryside, with cows peacefully grazing. However, upon closer scrutiny, it appears not so peaceful after all. Depending upon one's viewpoint, there is an entirely different focus on the meaning and purpose of a cow's existence. No hiding facts here; it's quite obvious that these cows will be processed into such items as flanks, sirloin steaks, hamburgers, and so on, with no thought or mention of where the meat really comes from: COWS!
